Hopewell Guidance Center for Addictions

A Treatment Facility in Cicero, Illinois

Hopewell Guidance Center specializes in adolescent substance abuse prevention and helping young people make positive choices in life. Kids often have a hard time avoiding temptations today when they're around their peers because they want to fit in and not be made fun of. The use of alcohol and certain drugs are very prevalent among our youth and often peer pressure and low self-esteem are reasons enough an adolescent will give in.

Hopewell Guidance Center is located in Cicero, Illinois and is staffed with certified addiction counselors that work closely with teens providing them with addiction education, individual counseling and group discussions so they can make positive choices in their daily life. Even though most parents keep the lines of communication open with their children and talk with them about drinking and drug use, sometimes peer pressure is difficult for them to handle.

There are many different reasons teens begin to experiment with drinking, smoking or using mind altering drugs but often they're looking for ways to feel better or forget about problems that are going on in their life. Depression is a common mental health illness that many teens go through and often parents aren't even aware this is an issue with their child. Many young people are struggling with academics, bullying, problems at home, loss, trauma, and abuse and eventually may turn to alcohol or drug use to cope.

Hopewell Guidance Center understands why a young person may start making poor choices and begin participating in risky behavior if they're experiencing problems in their life that aren't being addressed. Their counselors work closely with teens so they can work through substance abuse problems together if the exist, improve their self-esteem and set positive goals for their future.
