River City Comprehensive Counseling Services

A Treatment Facility in Glen Allen, Virginia

Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the use of medications such as methadone, suboxone, naltrexone or buprenorphine, in conjunction with behavioral health counseling, to provide a whole person approach to the treatment of opioid dependence. Research has demonstrated that the combination of medication and behavioral therapies is most successful when treating substance-use disorders. River City utilizes a combination of methadone and buprenorphine - medications approved by the Federal Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for treating opioid use disorders - with important rehabilitative services. River City’s services will provide the therapeutic support patients need to encourage full, long-term recovery and enhanced quality of life. River City’s MAT program is regulated by the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS), Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and will be accredited by The Joint Commission (JCAHO).
