Alcohol Abuse Outpatient Care Center

A Treatment Facility in Garden City, New York

Not everyone that seeks help for alcohol problems is completely ready and willing to change but that doesn't mean treatment won't be successful either. Many people in the beginning only seek treatment because of pressure they receive from a spouse, loved one, employer or it's been required by the courts. It doesn't matter whether a person is ready to stop drinking or if they're pressured into treatment, they can overcome their alcohol problems with the right form of help and support.

Outpatient Treatment for Alcoholism

A treatment program that specializes in alcoholism and problem drinking like Alcohol Abuse Outpatient Care Center in New York does helps a person recognize the affect alcohol has on their life even if they were in denial at first. They also provide their clients with a treatment plan that's designed to address each individual's personal needs during their recovery process so that problems can be dealt with that may stand in their way of sobriety.

When a person has had a drinking problem their health isn't the only concern, it's far more serious than that. Alcohol problems affect everyone, not just the problem drinker and much too often leads to broken relationships, problems in school or the workplace, serious illness, DWI's, and fatal accidents due to drunk driving.

12 Step Program Alcohol Abuse Outpatient Care Center utilizes the 12 Step Program to help their client's accept responsibility for their drinking behavior so they can work toward making positive changes in their life. They encourage outside participation in Alcoholics Anonymous meetings to all of their clients to strengthen their healing and daily recovery.

Evaluations A full and complete mental and physical assessment is completed for all clients during their admissions. This helps to determine the extent of treatment needed for their client, if their client has a co-occurring disorder at the same time and whether or not the individual requires detoxification first. If so, they provide medically assisted alcohol detox which is overseen by their medical staff.

Education Addiction, Relapse and Sobriety Education helps their clients understand the disease of addiction and how easily sobriety can be challenged. Their clients learn how to develop positive skills for coping with stress and challenges that could get in the way of their sobriety.

Therapy Their clients receive individual therapy to work through problems and make personal changes in their life that will promote healing and long term sobriety.

Group Therapy Group sessions are based on the 12 Steps and help their clients get a better understanding of how to work the steps and the importance of applying them in their daily lives.

After Care Counseling is provided for their clients after they complete their outpatient alcohol treatment program. Once a month individual counseling sessions help their clients to work through unexpected problems and to continue positive support.
