Postfalls Inhalant & Huffing Treatment Center

A Treatment Facility in Burlington, North Carolina

Chemical vapors are often inhaled by young people just to see what the experience would be like. Inhalants produce mind altering effects when the vapors are breathed in and because they're found most everywhere, it's not uncommon for many adolescents or teens to experiment with them at least once. Unfortunately some young people don't stop there and continue to repeat inhaling fumes often without realizing the dangers involved with huffing inhalants and their risk of 'sudden sniffing death'.

There are various kinds of products that young people abuse today which fall into the category of 'inhalants' but young people many times start experimenting with gasoline, lighter fluids, spray paints, and glues. Some young people are in need of a structured treatment environment to help them understand the seriousness behind their inhalant abuse so they can learn the importance of positive choices and negative behaviors.

Postfalls Inhalant & Huffing Treatment Center

A residential treatment program for adolescents and teens is located in North Carolina called Postfalls Inhalant Center that provides around the clock care for young people that experiment with or abuse inhalants. They specialize in adolescent substance abuse and provide them with the tools and education they need to make positive choices and changes in their life.

Young people experiment with substance abuse for various reasons and because inhalants are legal quite often a young teen will try huffing because they think it's safer. They don't realize the dangers involved with breathing in toxic vapors and the effects the dangerous chemicals can have on their overall health. Abusing certain chemicals can cause irreversible damage to the brain and nervous system or can even lead to hearing loss and limb spasms.

30 Day Residential Adolescent Treatment Program

Postfalls Inhalant Treatment Center is an inpatient 30 day highly structured adolescent program that includes Education, Individual, Group and Family Counseling, Individual Behavioral Therapy, Peer Pressure Education and Skills and Positive Coping Techniques. Young people are extremely curious but they're also very intelligent and once they understand the hard facts and seriousness behind inhalant abuse or other substance use they're able to make positive choices in their daily lives.

Adolescents need to feel good about them self, set positive goals for their future and have a healthy outlook on life. Abusing inhalants, alcohol or other drugs only holds them back in life, leads to addiction and possibly sudden death. We want our children to have a healthy childhood and lead a happy drug free life which starts with positive role models, education and substance abuse prevention.
